King John was born in 1167 and he died in 1216. King John is one of the more arguable monarchs of Midieval England. It is most corresponding with the signing of the Magna Carta. Like his father, John gained a reputation for violent rages. In 1189, all of Henry's territory went to his oldest son, Richard I. John's reputation as a leader had been strictly dented. John tried to snatch the crown from his brother but he failed. In 1199 John became the king of England. His reign started in an wretched way. John was accused of killing one of his brothers. John was forced to sign the Magna Carta. This guaranteed the people of England rights that the king could not retract. In 1216, John tried to retract the Magna Carta but this only caused the barons to declaring war with him. In 1216, John was ill. As the tide rose quicker than he expected his train was flooded and just a few days later, John died.
The crusades were a holy war lead by the popes and there were 6 crusades. The first crusade was lead by pope Urban II in 1095. The last crusade ended in 1291. It was a defense for the church and or christian people. During the crusades they build 500 ships and sailed across the Mediterranean. During the crusades the pilgrims wore crosses. Anyone who died while fighting in the crusades will be forgiven for all their sins.
